UXO LAO: ACCOMPLISHMENTS
ACCOMPLISHMENTS ( from 1996 to 31 December 2009 )
Community awareness: conducted UXO risk awareness activities in 7,877 villages reaching around 2,004,719 people ( including 778,791 children ).
Area clearance: cleared over 17,039 hectares of land, including 14,169 hecteares for agriculture and 2,870 hectares for other development projects ( 3,191,933 benefitciaries ).
Roving tasks: conducted 18,797 roving tasks, removing or destroying UXO found on the surface in 3,159 villages
Survey tasks: conducted 9,016 survey tasks, collecting information and mapping out UXO in 2,577 villages
UXO found (survey): 99,097 items (1,496 big bombs, 49,175 bombies, 363 mines, and 44,063 other UXO )
UXO removed or destroyed (through roving/ clearance tasks) 923,135 items ( 4,638 big bombs, 432,874 bombies, 5,973 mines, and 479,650 other UXO)

Community awareness: conducted UXO risk awareness activities in 617 villages, reaching around 158,148 people ( including 76,816 children )
Area clearance: cleared 2,552 hectares of land, including 212 hectares for other development projects.
Roving tasks: conducted 1,320 roving tasks, removing or destroying UXO found on the surface in 876 villages.
Survey tasks: conducted 1,828 survey tasks, collecting information and mapping out UXO in 1,135 villages.
UXO removed or destroyed (through roving / clearance tasks) 54,977 items ( 306 big bombs, 28,746 bombies, 92 mines, and 25,833 other UXO)
Technical survey tasks: applied TS on 387 hectares of land classifying such as low UXO clearance priority.
